Event Update: Tickets Have Sold Out

The hugely popular community led event is back again, the weekend after Mother’s Day. Samford and the surrounding areas, are once again opening their most inspiring private edible gardens to the public. This year, there are 14 edible gardens open over the weekend, 9 of these gardens are open for the very first time.

You create your own self-paced trail over the weekend, visiting how many gardens you like, and in the order that suits you. Wander through at your own pace, chat to the garden hosts, or time your visit with a garden talk presented by the hosts themselves.

If you are wanting to grow food in your own backyard, whether you are seasoned grower, or just starting out you will find answers and inspiration as you visit the Trail. The gardens have been selected to showcase a wide variety of methods and techniques of edible gardening.

The weekend isn’t just about gardens though, it is also about celebrating locally grown food! Five cafes in Samford will showcase an item on their menu sourced from local growers, so make sure you give yourself a little time to rest and eat in between the
gardens. An exciting growers and makers market will be at Millen Farm, in Samford Valley. Here you will find locally made produce, artisan products, and of course food and coffee! This is the spot to visit for children’s activities, including make and take activities, seed bags, and nature journaling activities.
