Mark Furner MP: State Member for Ferny Grove

Mark Furner is the current State Member for Ferny Grove and Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries, and Minister for Rural Communities, having previously served as Minister for Local Government and Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships.

Serving in the seat of Ferny Grove since 2015, he has delivered much-needed infrastructure and jobs for the Ferny Grove Electorate including: increased parking at the Ferny Grove Station; more than $60 million for our local schools; and more than $11 million for our local roads.

With his passion for community engagement, extensive political experience, and commitment to addressing local issues, Furner has proven himself to be a valuable advocate for the constituents he serves.

Political Experience

Furner's experience in politics spans several decades. Prior to his election as the Member of Parliament, Mark served as Queensland State Government Minister in various portfolios, including Agriculture and Fisheries and between 2007 to 2013 as a Queensland Senator in Canberra from where he served on a number of standing committees and committees of inquiry and chaired the Defence Sub-committee.
