In this workshop you will be encouraged to play, experiment and observe, drawing on local native wildflowers to create a series of nature based patterns. You will be guided through drawing and mark making a variety of pattern styles by Textile Designer and Illustrator Edith Rewa.

Edith Rewa is an Australian illustrator and textile designer currently based in Meanjin/Brisbane. She often looks for new ways to entwine the worlds of traditional botany with the contemporary Art + Design space, whilst exhibiting native plantscapes that are under-represented.

Her works can be found on silk scarves and art prints, on book covers, stationary, and printed textiles.

What is provided?

All materials for the workshop will be provided however participants are welcome to bring their own paper and preferred drawing pens/drawing materials if they desire. There will be a walk-through of the exhibition from 10:30 AM with workshop 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, morning tea is provided.

An optional Wallum walk from 8:45 AM from the northern end of Cotterill Ave. Own transport required, please wear covered shoes and bring a hat. A moderate level of fitness is required, the walk covers relatively flat but uneven ground. Book now.
