BUSH POETRY, COMEDY AND A WHOLE LOT OF FUN!

The Wayward Brothers are Mick Martin and Mal Beveridge, two travelling bush poets who perfected their craft in Moreton Bay and are now showcasing their talents to audiences far and wide. Mal and Mick will entertain you with cheeky stories, some written by them and some by others, in true bush poet style.

Mal has received a number of ‘written’ awards over the years, but it is performing in front of an audience that really rings his bells. He is a two-time winner of ‘The Looming Legend’ at Tenterfield’s Oracles of the Bush Festival, a multi times finalist at Tamworth, a runner up at Narrandera and an original poetry winner at Bundaberg, the Brisbane Ekka and North Pine. He has performed at previous Anywhere Festivals, the Brisbane Ekka, The Giddyup Festival and at many private events and specializes in comedy poetry.

This year Mick has been performing as a featured artist in Monogorilby, Boondooma, The Queensland Outback Golf spectacular in Winton, NQ’s Rockin’ Queensland in Mackay, a series of 3 shows with “The Vixens of Fall”, 3 performance gigs at the “Giddyup” Festival in Sandgate and The RNA (Brisbane Ekka) as a judge and performer. He is also one of the featured comperes at the Millmerran camp oven festival in September. Mick says “My shows are often described as comedy shows. We enjoy lots of laughs, joking around and fun.” He’s “worked the tourist seasons” at Cunnamulla and Carnarvon in tourist parks and had great reviews.

Check them out at Albany Creek Library as part of the Moreton Bay Region's Hills Festival.
