Spoon woodcarving with Black Wattle Woodshop

Caboolture and Morayfield
September 23rd at 9:30am
from $20.00

Carve your own unique spoon with Catie from Black Wattle Woodshop. You will spend four hours learning about wood grain and direction, and how to safely use a slöyd and hook knife.

There will be various spoon blank shapes and different timbers to choose from. The timber is sourced sustainable and will vary for each workshop.

Catie grew up in New South Wales before settling in the Moreton Bay region, she finds inspiration from nature and is influenced by native flora. She began woodworking as an adult when her partner began carving a spoon from a piece of fallen black wattle. This inspired her to try carving and she fell in love with the art form. Catie, a self-taught woodworker and science teacher by trade, she is now combining her love of woodwork and education to teach.
