What's On Moreton Bay | RECIPROCITY ART SWAP with Sally Molloy

Strathpine and Petrie
August 3rd at 2:00pm
Free Entry

Pine Rivers Art Gallery RECIPROCITY ART SWAP is the next in a series of ongoing initiatives aimed at creating opportunities for connection, generosity, and collaboration within the South East Queensland art community.

This project is part of an ongoing series of exchanges connected to the visual practice of Magan-djin/Brisbane based artist Sally Molloy. Sally invites local creatives to produce an artwork to gift anonymously to a fellow local artist.

Past iterations of this project have stimulated new relationships and conversations between local artists as well as expressions of gratitude, good will, and inclusivity within this already diverse and supportive network. At its core, RECIPROCITY ART SWAP is an opportunity to connect in a warm and welcoming environment.

How do I participate?

Registrations to participate in the swap open Tuesday 2 July and close Tuesday 30 July.

The SWAP is open to any practicing artist aged 18+ who resides in South East Queensland.

What can I swap?

Artworks must be no larger than 60cm x 60cm (2D) or 30 x 30 x 30cm (3D). If you have an unusual offering, please contact the gallery to see how we can accommodate you. Please deliver your work to Pine Rivers Art Gallery by Tuesday 30 July so that we can ensure everyone is paired fairly.

How does the pairing work?

Sally will match swappers anonymously and swap-ees to create a unique art match. As this project focuses on generosity and gratitude, no alterations to exchanges will be made on the basis of disappointment.

When does the swap happen?

This project culminates in a community event hosted at Pine Rivers Art Gallery on Saturday 3 August where participants will gather over a light afternoon tea to swap their contributions in person with their assigned swap-ee. During this event, hear from Sally Molloy about the importance of community connectedness and art. Warm your heart with art.
