About Dr Alexandra Campbell: Dr Campbell is an award-winning marine ecologist and science communicator, with a particular fondness for seaweeds. A key member and co-founder of the UniSC Seaweed Research Group, founder of ‘Operation Crayweed’ (which restores underwater seaweed forests along Sydney’s coastline), Dr Campbell won a ‘Green Globe’ award and was a Eureka Prize finalist (2017). She is a Churchill Fellow (2014), a Young Tall Poppy (2012), and a Superstar of STEM (2020-2022). Childhood holidays along the Pacific coast provided early inspiration for Dr Campbell, who now aims to inspire the next generation of ocean stewards, through regular outreach activities, writing, and frequent media engagements about her research.
