from $70.00

Have you always wanted to make your own cheese at home? Based on Valerie Pearson's book, Home Cheese Making in Australia, this one and a half to two-hour demonstration session covers all the basics of yoghurt and cheese making!

You will learn simple ways to make great tasting cheese at home. Valerie will demonstrate the basics of cheese and yoghurt making and how to make your own mozzarella cheese using common kitchen equipment. As you watch the demonstration, you will get to nibble on delicious samples of cheese and immerse yourself in the experience.

Save money, eat well and reap the benefits with this new skill, being able to make something that you would normally need to purchase at the supermarkets.

After the demonstration, you will be able to purchase the equipment you need to start making your own cheese at home. Armed with that, along with the knowledge you picked up in this workshop, you will be ready to set off on your own adventures into cheese-land!

There will also be Green Living Australia equipment available for sale on the day including cheese making kits, supplies and equipment, plus copies of Valerie's book Home Cheese Making in Australia.

Please be aware that this is a demonstration based session. You will not be making the cheese during this session but will be given all the knowledge to start making cheese at home.

About Valerie

Valerie has been a home cheesemaker and rampant foodie for 25 years and has a passion for fresh, organic, homemade foods. Valerie’s daughter Angie was born with chemical sensitivity in 1988 and this changed their lives forever. After struggling with food labelling laws, Valerie armed herself with the knowledge and skills needed to take back control of her family’s diet! Valerie became a well informed and conscious home cook and cheese connoisseur and delved into the science behind fermented foods. Valerie published her first book, Home Cheese Making in Australia, in 2016 and is currently working on her second book, Sugar-Free Home Preserving.
